Editorial Policy
Every tool and article on LaptopTestOnline is built and reviewed by people who use, repair, and benchmark laptops daily. Here is how we keep our content accurate, useful, and free of fluff.
Who writes for us
Every guide on LaptopTestOnline is written by Ali Blogger, a Dubai-based laptop repair and IT support technician with more than 10 years of experience. Each guide is written after carefully testing the steps on real laptops, and the author page lists Ali's background and a contact address.
We do not publish anonymous or AI-only generated content. AI tools may be used to assist with research and outlines, but every published page is written, edited, and fact-checked by the author before it goes live.
How we research and test
Each test tool is built against the documented browser API it relies on (for example, navigator.getBattery(), requestAnimationFrame, getUserMedia, or PublicKeyCredential). We then validate the tool on a rotation of real hardware:
- Windows 10/11 laptops (Intel and AMD, integrated and discrete GPU)
- MacBook Air and MacBook Pro (Intel and Apple Silicon)
- Chromebooks and Linux laptops where applicable
- Latest stable Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari
Results we publish (e.g. expected thresholds, pass/fail bands) come from the manufacturer's documentation, widely cited industry sources, or our own measurements. Where sources disagree, we say so.
How we update content
Articles display their publication date, and we periodically re-review tool pages as browsers change. A re-review happens as soon as one of these triggers fires:
- A browser API used by the tool changes or is deprecated
- A new operating system release changes default behaviour (e.g. Windows 11 24H2 audio stack)
- Reader feedback identifies an inaccuracy or missing step
- New hardware (high-refresh OLED, foldables, etc.) requires extra guidance
Corrections and accuracy
If you spot an error, write to info@laptoptestonline.com. Verified corrections are applied within five business days, and material changes are noted at the bottom of the affected page along with a new review date.
Independence and funding
LaptopTestOnline is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and, in the future, may include affiliate links to laptops and accessories. Advertising never influences our test results, scoring, or editorial recommendations. We do not accept paid placements inside articles, and any sponsored content — should we ever publish it — will be clearly labelled as such.
