How our tests work

Every test runs entirely inside your browser using standard web APIs. Step one: open the tool you need. Step two: grant the browser permission if the test uses your camera, microphone or speakers. Step three: follow the on-screen instructions and read the result, then use the accompanying guidance to work out whether what you saw is a hardware fault, a driver problem, or normal behaviour for that panel or component.

This matters because most hardware faults are intermittent or subtle. A stuck pixel is invisible against a busy desktop but obvious on a solid colour field. A keyboard that drops one key only shows up when you press it deliberately. A battery that has lost a third of its capacity still reports "100%".
